Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 36:1-12. Verse 8, to drink from God’s river of pleasures. How does it refresh me, strengthen me, gladden me? He’s offering me this right now, today? What’s expected of me in return?
Proverbs 10:1-32. Verses 13, 19, 21, 32, guard your lips (also your mouth and your tongue). Where was I careless about this yesterday? How can I do better today? Why does it matter to God?
Romans 14:1-13. Today how can I judge less and glorify the risen Jesus more?
Matthew 13:18-23. Related, today how can I cultivate the soil of my heart, and help other believers cultivate theirs, so that a bounteous harvest for Christ can be realized?
