Bible Sunday 4/20: Risen and Ascended

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 118:1-29. Verse 24, how can I center my whole being on the resurrection of Jesus, his victory over hell and the grave, so that today and tomorrow and every day thereafter becomes for me the day the Lord has made?

Exodus 1:1-22. Verses 15-17, heroism of the Hebrew midwives. How am I faced in these times with a choice between submitting to the tyranny of the world or faithfully obeying the commands of God? What’s the cost?

Mark 16:1-8. For me, in professing to be a Christian, do I treat the news that Christ is risen as mere information—or as marching orders about where to go, what to do, and whom to do it with?

Mark 16:9-20. Verses 15-18, signs following for believers in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Which of these have I seen proved in my experience? Which do I especially need to call upon here and now, Easter 2025?
