Bible Saturday 4/19: Great Peace

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:153-176. Verse 165, in my life right now, where is there turmoil or conflict that needs to be quelled by God’s peace? How shall I pray for that peace and trust him for it—at this very moment?

Zechariah 14:1-21. God promises deliverance, victory, and holiness for Jerusalem and Judah, under his kingship. What would that specifically look like in my heart and home, starting tomorrow on resurrection day?

John 19:38-42. What opportunity will I have today to act with some measure of the courage and risk-taking that Joseph and Nicodemus showed for the broken body of Christ crucified?

Matthew 27:62-66. Why have the worldly powers down through the ages, and even to this day, been so afraid of the prospect of Jesus defeating death?
