Bible Tuesday 4/22: Alive, not Dead

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 106:1-48. Verses 19-21, in what subtle form does idol-worship seek a foothold in me? How can I claim God’s protection against it today?

Exodus 3:1-22. What if God wanted to show me, as he showed Moses here, great things about his power and purpose in my life? Would I be alert, receptive, attentive enough to hear and obey him?

I Corinthians 5:1-8. Christ the passover lamb, sacrificed for us. What is the old leaven of corrupting thoughts and actions that I must utterly discard in order to receive the fullness of Jesus’ Easter blessing for me?

Luke 24:1-12. Verses 5-7, related, what is the mistaken concept of dead religion that Jesus asks me to turn my back on—so that I may companion daily with him as my living Savior and Lord?
