Bible Friday 4/11: The Servant Heart

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 102:1-28. Verses 9-13, what is the saddest I’ve ever been, the lowest and most broken? How did my perspective shift with “But God,” so that hope and comfort returned? Application to present needs?

Zechariah 6:1-15. God promises to send his chosen man to rebuild the temple, reclaim the throne, and restore peace. How can I do my small part for this revival today, by my prayers and my obedience?

Matthew 23:1-24. Verses 10-12, what can I specifically do today to express the servant heart that Jesus requires of me?

Matthew 23:25-24:2. Today how can I keep out of the hypocrisy Jesus warned about? How can I stay close to him and dependent on him, like a chick with its mother hen?
