Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 44:1-26. Verse 22, what secrets about me, good or bad, does God know that no one else does? How is he dealing with me about them? Prayer point?
Deuteronomy 25:1-19. Verse 4, consideration for animals, applied by Paul in I Cor. 9 and I Tim. 5 for consideration to people. Do my political and economic views make room for simple kindness?
Hebrews 10:11-18. Verse 13, Jesus seen in yet another psalm (110:1). How can I benefit today from his completed victory over all enemies, human or demonic?
Matthew 7:24-29. Verse 29, related point, for what shall I call on Jesus' authority today? Verse 24, what are some of his sayings from this Sermon on the Mount that I can more faithfully DO?
