Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 119:25-48. Verse 45 KJV, as a Christian and a citizen, do I have a deep or shallow view of liberty? What precepts of God correlate with liberty?
Genesis 23:1-20. Where is God in this story? How are its archaic values relevant to our modern world?
Hebrews 11:30 - 12:2. Verse 1, the cloud of witnesses. Which of them all (faith heroes and faith trials in previous chapter) particularly encourages me for the needs of today?
Matthew 7:13-20. Verses 13 and 14, do I and my church offer people a narrow gate to life, or a wide one? Why should anyone in this free and easy world give us a second look?
