Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 106:1-48. Verses 34-39, child sacrifice. How is this occurring in the present day? What is my church doing about it? My role?
Daniel 4:1-37. An earthly king is crushed and humiliated, then restored, hailing the King of heaven. Do I tend to get government, politics, and worldly institutions out of perspective? Over-sensitive to the news?
Revelation 16:1-7. Verse 6, bloodshed of saints and prophets. Where is this occurring in the present day? Are there danger signs closer to home? Action point?
Luke 22:54-71. Verse 61, what have I thought or said or done recently for which I’d hate to look Jesus in the eye? How can I make it right with him?
