Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 105:1-45. Verse 15 KJV, “touch not my anointed.” To what attacker, material or spiritual, would I have God give this protective command for me or someone else today?
Daniel 3:1-30. Into the fiery furnace. Verse 5, what script, mantra, or theme song lures us into idolatry nowadays? Verses 16-18, in what situation might I have to face religious persecution and say, “But if not”?
Revelation 15:1-8. Verses 3 and 4, in what way are the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb the same? Why do I need both? Singing them to myself all day today, what may be the result?
Luke 22:35-53. Verse 42, is there a situation right now where I need to surrender my will to God’s will? Verse 46, in what particular way does Jesus want me vigilant, not sleepy, at this Christmas season?
