Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 18:1-50. Verse 34, what warfare am I engaged in today? What abilities and weapons for the fight do I need from God?
Exodus 4:1-31. Verses 3 and 4, what serpent will try to intimidate me today? What’s involved in seizing it by the tail? How will God then reward me?
I Peter 3:12-22. Verse 15, a classic summons to evangelism. In a few simple words, as conversational as possible, how would I tell a non-believing inquirer about the Christian hope that is in me?
John 4:1-15. Verse 7, related question, how could I winsomely initiate that conversation, not waiting for them to inquire? What should I not do in such a situation? Whose name comes to me in prayer?
