Bible Sunday 10/18: What's Freedom For?

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:49-88. Verses 67 and 71, when did God use affliction to draw me closer to him? What did I learn or unlearn? Present application?

Nehemiah 5:1-19. Nehemiah puts a stop to predatory business practices. What does God want me to know about economics besides capitalism vs. socialism? Is my church engaged on this?

Galatians 5:1-15. Verses 1, 13, 14, related question, what does God want me to know about politics and civics besides Republicans vs. Democrats? Is my church engaged on this?

Luke 12:41-48. Verse 48, in what way am I among those to whom much has been given? Where am I perhaps not yet giving back to God and my neighbor, all that I owe in return?
