Bible Monday 5/11: Body of Christ

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 27:1-14. Verse 4, if nearness to God is truly my supreme desire, what attitudes and actions will I bring to that on this busy and complicated day?

Ezekiel 31:1-18. Pharaoh’s pride brought low. What pretensions of today’s world, including the churches, are equally offensive to God when he looks over the modern scene? How do I participate in these?

I Corinthians 12:20-31. Verse 25 KJV, no schism in the body. What pointless divisions pit Christians against each other when we should be united for God and our neighbor? Action point for me today?

John 7:40-53. Verse 50, Nicodemus, met earlier, stands up for Jesus. What cracks in the wall of a godless world can God’s light start to penetrate? What opportunity might the pandemic present?
