Bible Tuesday 7/28: Racial Rifts aren't of God

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 71:1-24. Verses 6-9 and 17-18, God’s long faithfulness to us throughout all the seasons of life. How have I experienced this in my life story? Present application?

I Kings 2:1-46. Solomon harshly settles scores with Adonijah, Abiathar, Joab, and Shimei. How does the biblical picture of fallen humanity accord with current calls to abolish the police and empty the jails?

Acts 17:22-34. Verses 26-28, all nations of one blood, his offspring. How does this rebuke our racial preoccupations? Verse 31, the risen Christ as righteous judge. How does this rebuke the utopian dream of heaven for al?

Mark 11:12-19. Verse 17, how can my church more fully honor God’s intention that we are to be a house of prayer? My role?
