Bible Wednesday 7/29: Time of Fire

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 74:1-23. Verses 7 and 8, in a time of escalating violence against religious symbols and churches, what preparedness is required of me, spiritually and humanly?

I Kings 3:1-28. Verses 7-13, how can my prayers today have more of the spirit of Solomon about them, confessing to God, “It’s not about me”—?

Acts 18:1-11. Verses 9 and 10, related question, if I could have a night vision with the assurance from God, “In my name, yes you can,” what specific goals or victory would that involve?

Mark 11:20-26. Verse 23, related again, what mountain would I most want to move with God’s power?
