Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 143:1-12. Verse 8 KJV, the prayer of “cause me” is a prayer that hands over control of myself and my life completely to God. What situation am I currently facing that calls for this? Cause me to—what?
Jonah 1:1-17. When have I tried to flee from a demand God was making on me? What did I learn?
Revelation 20:1-15. Verses 12 and 15, how do I get my name written in God’s book of life? Must I see to it only once, or every day and always? What does it specifically require of me today?
Matthew 2:13-18.Still today, as the worldly powers seek to destroy Jesus, what methods do they use? What is my response? In this fight am I a combatant or a bystander?
