Bible Tuesday 2/23: Keep Your Heart

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 127:1-5. Verse 1, what important endeavor have I recently taken too much upon myself and failed to give it over to God? Prayer point for today?

Proverbs 4:1-27. Verses 14-19 KJV, path of the wicked, bread of the wicked, way of the wicked. In what misleading everyday disguises do these present themselves to me? What is God’s antidote?

Romans 6:1-14. Verses 6-8 KJV, what are some of the sinful elements I recognize in myself that make up the “old man” who was crucified with Christ? Am I fully rid of those, or is it in process?

Matthew 13:36-43. Opposite question for that of Psalm 127 above. Who or what on the human scene seems very offensive to me, yet in God’s eyes it may be reclaimed and one day shine in his kingdom?
