Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 106:1-46. Verses 12-14, when have I repeated the very offense that I just asked God to forgive me for? What did I learn?
Genesis 43:1-34. Verses 23 and 29, when has God reconciled a breach in my family or with friends of mine? Present application?
Romans 3:9-18. At my church is it generally taught and believed that humankind are all this bad, or that people are basically good? Am I in agreement with Paul, or has he painted too dark a picture?
Matthew 12:31-37. Verse 36, taking account of all my habits of talk, what do I find that displeases Jesus? How can I do better, starting today?
