Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 50:1-23. Verse 20, when have I wronged a close family member and learned a lesson? Why does this particularly offend God? Present application?
Judges 17:1-13. Verse 6, is our society now approaching this amoral extreme, where everyone defines right and wrong as they see fit? What is my church doing about it? My role?
II Corinthians 12:1-13. Verses 9 and 10, what’s my worst point of weakness? What would it look like for Christ to show his strength in me right there, right now today?
Luke 9:27-36. What spiritual qualities in Peter, John, and James, more than in the other nine, fitted them to witness Jesus’ transfiguration? How can I go about cultivating those qualities in myself today?
