Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 22;1-31. Verse 28, as Americans vote today, what opportunity and obligation are laid upon me from knowing that God ultimately governs this nation and all nations?
Isaiah 13:1-22. Verse 19, Babylon to feel God’s wrathful judgment as Sodom did. How can America escape the same? What is my church doing about it? My role?
II Thessalonians 1:1-12. Verses 4 and 5, is my church experiencing anything close to the persecution, tribulation, and suffering that the Thessalonian church did? Is that okay? First step today?
Luke 18:1-8. Verse 8, when Jesus returns (perhaps soon), what will be his yardstick or scorecard to find whether my faith meets his requirement? Action point for today?
