Bible Friday 10/14: Extreme Makeover

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 110:1-7. Verse 4, how are things better for me today, in realizing that Jesus is a priest forever in the holy order of Melchizedek?

Nehemiah 1:1-11. What does Nehemiah’s prayer, offered here, have to teach me about making my own prayers more effective?

Colossians 3:1-25. Verses 9 and 10, if putting off the old man and putting on the new is not a one-time event but an ongoing process, what are the markers of my doing so—thus far—and the next marker to try for?

Luke 12:13-21. Verse 21, related question, weighing up all my assets and accomplishments and aspirations, which ones make me richer toward God, not just richer in selfishness? Action point?
