Bible Friday 10/21: Look Up

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 121:1-8. Verse 1, is there an issue of trouble, struggle, suffering, or sorrow on which my gaze has been heavily downcast of late? How shall I go about lifting my eyes today to receive God’s help?

Nehemiah: 8:1-18. Verses 9-11, joy of the Lord. How can I achieve the right balance between grieving over my unholiness and rejoicing in God’s holiness?

Galatians 4:1-11. Verse 6, crying, Abba, Father. Related to the previous question, which is more of a danger for me: being too intimate with the Father or not being intimate enough? Action point today?

Luke 13:18-21. What part does Jesus want me to play today in the tending of his kingdom seed, his kingdom leaven?
