Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 76:1-12. Verse 9, God arises to save the meek of the earth. Who are they exactly, in our everyday world? What does God want me to do for them, starting today?
Esther 1:1-22. A quarrel of the king and queen gives rise to a royal decree for every household in the land. What could go wrong? Nowadays where do we see attempted political solutions to disorders of the human heart?
Revelation 12:7-17. In what way must I be on guard, even this very day, against the dragon (serpent, devil, Satan) making war upon King Jesus and his people?
Matthew 24:45-51. What specific trust has Jesus commanded me to fulfill while we await his return? What hindrances or lapses must I particularly guard against today?
