Bible Sunday 12/10: Mary and Elizabeth

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 103:1-22. To obey the repeated command of “Bless the Lord,” what are some specific thoughts, words, and actions he expects from me today?

Daniel 2:1-49. Daniel, empowered by prayer, tells the king’s dream. Verses 11 and 28, how am I offered today a choice between many false gods, inacessible to humankind, and the one true God who hears and responds?

Revelation 18:1-8. How do current events resemble the final downfall of Babylon? How shall I, belonging to Jesus, flee and shelter with him—yet keep loving my neighbor and witnessing where possible?

Luke 1:39-56. The unborn John leaps at hearing of the unborn Jesus. During this Advent, what might be the outward sign of my “leaping” inwardly with joy that the Savior is coming soon?
