Bible Tuesday 2/21: The War Within

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 121:1-8. Verse 8 KJV, what are my specific comings and goings today, which I can trust God to oversee? How can I become more aware of asking him and thanking him for this?

Joel 1:1-20. Verse 12, the withering of mankind’s joy. What are the symptoms of this in our world at present? What is my church doing about it?

Romans 7:13-25. What is my experience, past or present, of this inward struggle between my good and evil impulses? How does the situation change when Jesus shows up (verses 24, 25)?

Matthew 13:53-58. Related question, from long (perhaps lifelong) familiarity with Jesus have I begun to take him for granted? How shall I counteract that today?
