Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 71:1-24. Verses 16-18 KJV, hitherto. What are some proven examples of God’s care for me in the past, on which I can lean amidst present-day troubles and worries?
Zechariah 5:1- 11. Verses 3 and 4, God’s curse on evildoers. How is this evident in our times? What is my protection against it?
I Corinthians 10:23-11:1. How conscience should guide my Christian walk. What does the worldly mind now tend to follow instead of conscience? What is my church doing about it? My role?
Matthew 23:29-36. Jesus laments the martyrdom of the righteous. In following Jesus today, even if not yet physically at risk, how am I in line for persecution or intimidation? Am I ready for the worst?
