Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 107:1-43. Verse 2, as one of God’s redeemed children, to whom can I “say so” today or very soon? What’s a single sentence I could use to sum it up for (1) a believer in God or (2) a non-believer?
Exodus 7:1-25. Spiritually, what is the bondage that countless people are held in at present, including many professed Christians? What would my small share of patient determination to help free them look like today?
I Corinthians 15:35-49. Verse 49, if Jesus invites me right now—not just after death—to reflect more and more a heavenly rather than earthly image, how am I doing so far this year? Action point?
John 20:11-18. The risen Jesus calls Mary Magdalene by name. Assuming such a call from him to me won’t likely be an audible voice, in what way(s) should I tune my spiritual ear to hear from him today?
