Bible Tuesday 6/13: Voice from Heaven

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 106:1-48. Verse 16, why are envy, jealousy, and covetousness seldom condemned nowadays? Why do they displease God? How do I tend to manifest them?

Leviticus 23:1-44. Feast days decreed for Israel by God. What benefit was once derived by believers from observing the structure and rhythm of the Christian year, now largely in disuse?

Acts 7:9-22. God’s lifesaving care for the captive Joseph and the castoff Moses. Who do I know that needs to feel God’s protective hand upon them today? What’s to be done?

Mark 1:1-11. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all in evidence as John baptizes Jesus. What’s my prayer—short, simple, and sincere—to the Triune God today?
