Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 70:1-5. Verse 2, put them to confusion. In my specific situation right now, what would confusion—human and spiritual—look like? What is God’s antidote?
Deuteronomy 27:1-26. What’s the equivalent, for God’s people in these times, of setting up memorial stones like those Moses describes here? Action point for me today?
Hebrews 11:1-7. Verse 7, what qualities of Noah shall I ask God to express in me, in order that I may serve him faithfully in these wicked days?
Matthew 11:20-24. If Jesus returns soon, what stern judgment might he pronounce upon my city? But what would he find here to commend and praise? How can my church do more to increase the latter?
