Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 37:1-40. Verse 4, what is there about God that causes me delight? How will my delight be evident to others today?
Isaiah 19:1-25. God’s master plan for healing and blessing the nations: Egypt, Assyria, Israel. Can I doubt for a moment that his plan is still operative right now—wars, upheavals, and elections notwithstanding?
Revelation 1:9-20. Verses 18 and 19, what does the risen Christ want me to know today, and then what does he want me to do about it?
Luke 20:1-8. Jesus exposes the moral cowardice of the Jewish leaders. How does the same temptation get at some Christian leaders at the present day? What is my church doing about it?
