Bible Friday 2/9: 100x ROI

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 101:1-8. Verse 2, perfect behavior and a perfect heart. If David vowed before God to strive for this, can I do less? What’s one small realistic goal in this direction?

Jeremiah 7:1-34. Verse 11, cited by Jesus when he purged the temple. How do lying and stealing, spiritually understood, creep into the church? Or into my own daily life?

Romans 2:17-29. Further warnings to the hypocrites, who dishonor God by actions that don’t match their words. Is there something I’ve been neglecting that needs to be put right today with God and my neighbor?

Matthew 13:18-23. What is Jesus inviting me to do today that will bear fruit one hundred times over?
