Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 103:1-22. Verse 5, God to renew my youth like the eagle’s. Given those years back, what would I do differently? Is it too late for all of that?
Jeremiah 8:1-22. Verse 11, in what way do we see God’s ministers today falsely teaching complacency, apathy, moral indifference? What is my church doing about it? My role?
Romans 3:1-8. As a Christian at this time and place in history, what is my debt to the Jews? How can I show my gratitude? How important is this to God?
Matthew 13:24-30. Examining my own heart and mind, what do I find that can be symbolized as wheat and tares? How can I be attuned to God’s timing for dealing with each?
