Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 6:1-10. Verse 3, what situation has been causing me to pray this lament, “How long, O Lord?” What spiritual growth have I gained during this time of weary waiting?
Jeremiah 12:1-17. Verse 1, related, have I been noticing the injustice whereby godless people seem to get on better than God’s people do? Why is that?
Romans 4:13-25. Verse 18, how does Jesus Christ crucified and risen enable me to hope against hope?
Matthew 6:16-23. Verse 19, this treasure of mine that Jesus is talking about, what exactly is it? In saving it up and caring for it, am I obeying or disregarding his teaching?
