Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 63:1-11. Verse 8, following hard after God. What tells the difference between someone doing this and someone just approaching religion routinely? Action point for today?
Leviticus 7:22-38. In sacrificing, eat no fat or blood. Why? Wave breast and heave shoulder. Why? Are there some rules in serving God that seem arbitrary to me? How am I blessed in obeying them anyway?
Ezekiel 47:1-23. What shall I specifically ask God to do for me today with his healing waters and fruitful trees?
John 16:25-33. As I interact with other people today, how will they notice that I’m of good cheer because I serve Jesus who has overcome the world?
