Bible Sunday 6/30: Famished

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 146:1-10. Verse 7, who is suffering oppression or imprisonment today—whether physical or spiritual—and needs my prayers for God to set them free?

I Samuel 16:1-23. David anointed by Samuel as Israel’s future king. Verse 7, what decision am I facing where I’ll need spiritual discernment from God, looking below the surface of things?

Acts 15:12-21. The Jerusalem church opens its arms to non-Jews. What opportunity awaits me today to make Jesus known among my neighbors not by law but by grace?

Mark 6:30-44. Verse 34, what attitudes and actions are expected of me today if I truly accept that I’m a sheep and Jesus is my shepherd?
