Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 83:1-18. Verse 1, is there a situation in my life right now where it seems God is silent and still when I need him to speak and move? What’s to be done?
Job 41:1-34. Verse 34, king over the children of pride. God’s final reminder to Job that fallen humanity is no match for untamed nature. What’s my reply when God demands, “Who do you think you are?”
II Corinthians 6:1-10. Paul spells out in detail what discipleship has cost him. What has it cost me? Do I need to think more about helping pull the wagon and not just riding in it?
Luke 10:17-24. Verse 20, what would this look like as I go through this day—to rejoice more in the love Jesus lavishes on me than in the power he has lent me?
