Bible Thursday 3/20: Eyes on the Prize

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 48:1-14. How can I become more secure and successful in my earthly community by dwelling more avidly in God’s heavenly city today?

Proverbs 15:1-33. Verses 13-17, who is someone I can take as a role model for expressing a merry heart with love of God and neighbor?

Romans 15:22-33. Verse 30, striving in prayer. For what person in great need shall I intercede with God more earnestly and fervently today than yesterday?

Matthew 13:44-52. With a month left in Lent, what would it look like for me to quit “shopping” for lesser things and go all in for the the goals Jesus sets before me, the treasure field and the one best pearl?
