Bible Friday 3/28: The Vine and the Temple

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 69:1-36. Verse 9, how can I express today my zeal for God and his people?

Proverbs 23:1-35. Verse 4, labor not to be rich. Why not? What goal should I be laboring for instead, today and all the rest of my days? How is that coming? Can I feel—at least sometimes—God’s “well done”?

I Corinthians 3:1-17. Verses 9-15, related, when has my commitment to Jesus been tested by fire? What further tests may come? How shall I prepare?

Matthew 20:1-16. How do the economics of King Jesus, and his arithmetic, differ from the world’s math and econ? Can I shift my frame of reference to be like his, or is it too risky?
