Bible Monday 3/31: Casual Won't Cut It
Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 74:1-23. Verses 7 and 8, burning down many churches and synagogues. Why is the worldly mind so terrified of the God of the Bible? How my church protect itself from physical and spiritual attack?
Proverbs 26:1-28. Verse 11, when have I repeated the same sin over and over? What was the consequence? What did I learn?
I Corinthians 4:14-21. Who has been like a father or mother in Christ to me? Or who has been like a son or daughter in Christ to me? How can I take it up a notch? How can I thank them or pay it forward?
Matthew 22:1-14. Verse 5, what excuses have I been making to Jesus lately? Or when accepting his invitation, what corners have I been cutting, as if it were not a high occasion but a casual-dress affair?
